Common Questions
A plain-English guide to how Common Table works, who operates it, where boxes come from, and what to expect before joining.
What is Common Table?
Common Table is a direct-to-community food service serving Weehawken, Hoboken, and Jersey City with flexible biweekly boxes sourced from farms, local producers, and neighborhood food businesses.
Who am I buying from?
You are buying from a local community member's small business that sources from New Jersey farms, small food businesses, and neighborhood stores. Each drop will include attribution so you can see where the items in your box came from. Common Table is operated by Umiko LLC d/b/a Common Table.
Is Common Table a CSA?
Not exactly. A CSA, or Community Supported Agriculture program, usually asks members to pay upfront for a full season of farm shares. Common Table is inspired by CSA values, but it is designed to be more flexible, with smaller biweekly boxes and less upfront commitment.
Where will pickup be?
Common Table is currently focused on Weehawken, Hoboken, and Jersey City. Pickup details are shared with confirmed participants before each drop.
Can I choose what is in my box?
Boxes are curated to keep sourcing simple and reduce waste. Member feedback may shape future box options, add-ons, and drop planning. Current box information is posted on the Next Drop page.
Are box items guaranteed?
Items may change based on seasonality, harvest timing, supplier availability, quality, weather, and operational needs. When substitutions happen, Common Table aims to keep the box useful, fresh, and fairly sourced.
Where can I read the purchase terms?
The full terms of sale, pickup expectations, cancellation language, and legal seller information are available on the Terms page.
